De digitale revolutie raakt het MKB

Experts en politici zijn het er over eens: de vierde industriële revolutie zal de wereld ingrijpend veranderen. De keywords Industry 4.0 en MKB 4.0 representeren de digitale transfromatie, die ook de organisaties in de wereld ingrijpend doen veranderen. De eerste tekenen daarvan zijn al duidelijk zichtbaar. De toepassingen van internet, het gebruik van devices als de tablet en de smartphone en de manier waarop er op alle fronten in bedrijven gedigitaliseerd wordt, moet in de genen gaan zitten van bedrijven.

Wat zegt de CEO van onze partner CAS Software, Martin Hubschneider hierover?

"My first PC, which I purchased for a whole 1,490 DM, was a TI 99 4A from Texas Instruments. That was in 1981. I was still a student and was very happy to have a powerful 16-bit main processor and 16 kilobytes of RAM. I was not familiar with Moore's law back then. In 1965 a certain Gordon Moore had already come up with the theory that the computing power of modern computers doubles every 18 to 24 months."

"Today the computing power of my Smartphone is about 100,000 times as high. In fact, the device's memory is 4 million times as big as that of my first PC. And by the way, my current iPhone is 50 times faster than the model generation of exactly 8 years ago. What do we learn from this? Moore was right. And: exponential growth turns small inventions into sweeping revolutions."
